A quietly breathing story with a strong presence
Kitada Mo's illustrations are characterized by their soft colors, and the unique presence, like a sense of weightiness, that comes across in the illustrations naturally draws the viewer's attention and leaves a lasting impression at first glance.
The motifs are drawn in meticulous detail, revealing a keen eye and careful attention to detail. Everything is carefully drawn, from the characters' expressions and the creases in their clothing, to the buildings and decorations in the background, and you get the impression that things are arranged in a natural way, just as they should be.
In addition, the balance of light and shadow is exquisite, and the depth and spaciousness of the scene are beautifully expressed, allowing you to sense a story quietly breathing within the illustration. The points on the screen where you should hold your eye are clear, and you intuitively know where to focus. This is by no means a forceful approach, but rather the result of skillful composition that naturally leads your eye.
It has a quiet yet strong presence that leaves a lasting impression on the viewer.
Kitada Mo's illustrations have that kind of charm.

Kitada Mo's Production Story
Q: How do you create your own work?
For me, creating illustrations is like taking a walk.
I like walking the same route every day, but it can feel a bit like chore, so trying to discover a different route is just a little bit more stimulating.
The same goes for illustrations. I enjoy incorporating something I've never done before, be it composition, motif, lighting...it doesn't matter what it is .
Q: What is your source of inspiration?
The first is the energy we receive from human activity.
Of course I am influenced by the works that others create, but I am also easily influenced by the power of people who are actively working.
Q : What do you want to convey through your illustrations?
I tend to want to share positive emotions with others through drawing, so I end up creating a lot of derivative works. (The most recent original illustration you posted was actually from 2022...) I was given the opportunity to draw an original work this time, so I drew it to convey a message.
I am involved in what is known as otaku cultural activities, but I feel a bit inferior because I am not that knowledgeable about games or manga.
But I like idols.
I'm always energized by idols who sing with all their heart and soul. I put my feelings of "Thank you to all the idols!" into this illustration.
